Chandler High School is in the top 5% of public schools in the country academically. It is a large urban high school with a large variety of academic and extracurricular opportunities.
The Chandler Wrestling Program has a rich history of athletic and academic success. In the past 15 years, Chandler High School has won a State title, took 2nd once, and finished in the top 5 of the State 8 times. They have had 4 individual National Champions and 10 All-Americans many with multiple awards. Several of CHS’s wrestlers have gone on to compete at the college level. Stefana Jelacic was an AZ State Champion for CHS and then went on to be a 4 x All-American and 2 x NAIA Women’s Champion for Lourdes University. Zach Espalin was a 4 x State Champ for CHS and was an NWCA Champion for Tarleton State last year and will be competing in his final season this year. Dalton Brady was a 4 x State Champion for CHS and was an NCAA qualifier for ASU. Tristan Moran was a State Champion and Runner-up for CHS and wrestled for Oklahoma State and for Wisconsin where he was a Nationally-ranked athlete in 2020 (NCAA D-I). Bobby Groves was a 4 x State Champion (2020 for CHS) and wrestled for Harvard University (NCAA D-I). Max Mejia was a State Champion for CHS and competed for 4 seasons at Harvard University. Dajour Reece was a State Champion and All-American at CHS and went on to become a NJCAA Champion and Runner-up for North Idaho College. CHS has 2 current wrestlers that have signed scholarships for wrestling for the 2026-27 season: Travis Cardenas signed with Arizona State University and Preston Shorter signed with Davis and Elkins University
